This is How Easy it is to Keep Vinyl Siding Looking New

One of the best parts of choosing vinyl siding is how remarkably low maintenance it is. It can keep its fresh and new look for years, with only a little bit of TLC.

Today we’re going to show you how to maintain your vinyl siding’s freshly painted look, without ever having to lift a paintbrush.

This is going to be even easier than you thought.

Two Things You Will Need to Do

You’re going to want to inspect your siding every 6 months or so, or when the seasons change, to make sure there are no dents from birds or stray baseballs crashing into it.

Next, you’re going to grab a hose and bucket and give the siding a washing once a year or so. The old-fashioned sponge or cloth will work just fine. You don’t have to buy a special soap, but you should avoid any soaps or detergents with bleach. You should also stay away from liquid grease remover, polish remover, organic solvents or furniture polish.

They could all damage the finish.

Several Things You Will Never Need to Do

You will never, ever have to worry about staining, painting, or treating your vinyl siding.

So you can get all the beauty of natural wood, with none of the maintenance that goes with wood siding. And, you also never have to worry about the other problems that come with traditional wood siding, like pests, insects, warping, rotting, or mold.

One Thing You Should Never Do

You might think a good blasting with the power washer should give it a deep and thorough cleaning. That’s a bad idea.

Vinyl siding doesn’t need that much horsepower to get a complete cleaning and you can actually damage the panels with too much pressure.

One Thing to Look Out For

Be careful of the yard products you around your vinyl siding. They can do wonders for your yard or your garden, but they could also hurt the finish on your siding. If you do happen to get a bit of insecticide or fertilizer on it, be sure to wash it with warm water and a safe soap as soon as possible.
